Years ago, I wrote a sketch for The Abominable Showman called "Bowling for Shelter." It was the dead of winter, and homeless people would compete for a toasty hotel room. When the contestant bowled a gutter ball, the audience would chant "out in the cold." Little did I know that this would someday become a more humane plan than the official U.S. Government attitude toward the homeless.
