Trump is allegedly having an extramarital affair “now,” but with whom?
The speculation is split between Nikki Haley and Hope Hicks.
Well, if I had to guess ... I'm on Team Hicks.
I would not guess that Nikki Haley would be involved with Trump, for a variety of reasons. (1) She appears to have earned her position on merit. She has extensive government experience, and is considered competent enough for Mitt Romney to have given her serious consideration as a running mate. She was confirmed to her position by a 96-4 vote, obviously indicating bipartisan respect. (2) She is independent enough to have contradicted Trump in public. She specifically said his accusers "should be heard." My own personal guess is that she would secretly like to see Trump be a one-term president so she can replace him at the top of the ticket. (3) She is incredibly ambitious and married to an army officer who has served in Afghanistan. He's the perfect trophy husband for a politically ambitious woman. He was serving in a war zone while she was a governor. An affair with Trump would destroy in an instant the squeaky-clean image she has assiduously cultivated over a lifetime. (Although blogger Will Folks claimed to have an affair with her about a decade ago.) (4) She's 46, not busty, Middle Eastern, dark and maybe a bit better than average in appearance. Does that sound like any other woman Trump has ever formed a relationship with?
Now Hope Hicks, on the other hand ...
(1) Her position seems to be attributable to something other than competence. She is woefully underqualified for her job, never having held a senior position in the private or public sector before hooking up with the Trump family. In Trump's own words, "She had about as much experience as a coffee cup.” (2) She is 29, and a very attractive woman who has worked as a model. She looks like a star. Like several stars. (3) She broke up with her boyfriend of six years during the campaign (allegedly because of her relationship with Lewandowski). (4) Her public descriptions of Trump are absurdly sycophantic, and so inaccurate in general that they obviously only apply to his treatment of her. "President Trump has a magnetic personality and exudes positive energy, which is infectious to those around him. He has an unparalleled ability to communicate with people, whether he is speaking to a room of three or an arena of 30,000. He has built great relationships throughout his life and treats everyone with respect. He is brilliant with a great sense of humor ... and an amazing ability to make people feel special and aspire to be more than even they thought possible." (5) All of her superiors in the organization have stated that she is untouchable, often using that exact word, even when the Trump staff has its inevitable shake-ups. (6) Trump allegedly told her, "You’re the best piece of tail he’ll ever have." (Meaning Lewandowski) Maybe he would know? (7) Wolff wrote: "The relationship of the President and Hope Hicks, long tolerated as a quaint bond between the older man and a trustworthy young woman, began to be seen as anomalous and alarming."
Gregg
ReplyDeleteYou forget that it was rumored she had an affair during her first term ( or just before) as governor of South Carolina.
Gregg Harper? The retiring House member from Mississippi? That would explain why he's retiring!
