Loyola did it again!
This time it was 69-68. Sweet!
To make it even sweeter, Kentucky lost to Kansas State, which means Loyola can make the final four by beating a #9 seed. (Or if you look at it the other way, Kansas State can make the final four by beating 11th-seeded Loyola.) Either way, there will be a team from the bottom half of the brackets in the final four! One thing amazing to me: the leader in the ESPN contest correctly predicted that KSU and Loyola would meet!
Oh, and by the way, #4 Gonzaga lost. In fact they got shellacked by the unheralded, 9th-seeded Seminoles of Florida State.
So there were four games Thursday, and three of them were upsets!
That was the crazy half of the brackets. In the sensible half, the East and Midwest play tomorrow, and the big guns are holding up there. Both of the #1s remain. Ditto the #2s. The only Cinderella team left is Syracuse, an 11th seed which will be up against #2 Duke.
