Tom Wolfe, Author of ‘The Right Stuff’ and ‘Bonfire of the Vanities,’ Dies

I had no idea he was that old (88) because it was just six years ago that he published a novel about the Cuban exile community in Miami. (It was commercially unsuccessful.)

    I was surprised by how old he was too, and then I was reminded that "The Bonfire of the Vanities" was written 31 years ago!

    Forget the crap movie, get the BOOK Bonfire of the Vanities. It's pretty good.
