Cubs' Wood still on pace for season-ending injury
Kerry was a rookie in 1998 when he wowed us with a 13-6 record and almost 13 Ks per nine innings. Very impressive. Except for a touch of wildness, Kerry had one of the best debut seasons in pitching history. Nine full major league seasons have passed in the period 1998-2006, and Kerry now has only 71 wins. In the last two seasons he's averaged 35 innings pitched, two wins. A comeback is not impossible because he is only 29 years old, and he's already made one great comeback, but it seems to be getting less and less likely.
