ESPN - Rocket grabs 350th win, A-Rod banged up in Yankees' win - MLB

Rocket grabs 350th win - allowing only three baserunners in eight innings!
The last pitcher to reach 350 was Warren Spahn, 44 years ago, and the previous guy befre that was Ol' Pete Alexander, another 35 years before Spahnie. So it doesn't happen often! Maddux might also make it, but probably not this year (he is currently at 340). Those two may well be the last of the breed. They are #8 and #10 of all time, but four of the top ten accumulated wins during the period when the modern pitching distance and the "rubber" had not yet been established. That happened in 1893. Before that pitchers threw from inside a box which extended from 50 feet away back to 55 1/2.
