Interesting. Obama beats all five, but his leads over Huckabee and McCain are within the margin of error. He stomps Romney and Thompson by 18 and 16 points respectively. Obama runs best against four of the five candidates. The only exception is Huckabee. Obama does beat him 47-42, but that's just a hair worse than Edwards' margin of 47-41.Edwards beats Romney and Thompson convincingly, beats Huckabee by less than the margin of error, loses to Giuliani and McCain by less than the margin of error.
Clinton loses to McCain by more than the margin of error while the other four races are two close to call. She has leads over Romney and Thompson and is losing to to Huckabee and Giuliani
If you're scoring at home, that means
- McCain beats Hillary, leads Edwards, is losing to Obama. McCain runs best of all the Republicans against all three major Democrats.
- Huckabee leads Hillary, is losing to Obama and Edwards, with all three too close to call.
- Thompson and Romney get their asses kicked by Edwards or Obama, and are losing to Hillary in races too close to call.
- Giuliani leads Edwards and Clinton in races to close to call, but gets his butt kicked by Obama.
The Republicans win only one match-up by a margin greater than the standard error. McCain beats Hillary 49-42. And that is only a half point outside the margin of error, which is 6.5 for the spread.
