Reds connect for seven homers, including three from young Joey Votto

Edinson Volquez extended his record to 5-1 with a 1.06 ERA. That's doubly impressive because the Reds are 14-21. Volquez tried to make it with the Rangers in the past three years and could never get it together. The first two years he was 1-10 and could never seem to get past the fourth inning

Volquez now seems like a completely different guy. In 2006 he struck out only about 4 batters per 9 innings. This year he has struck out about 11 per 9 innings. His Achilles heel is control, and he still hasn't solved that, despite his impressive ERA. He's still walking five guys per nine innings, and yesterday he walked six in seven shutout innings.
