All Time Box Office Adjusted for Ticket Price InflationOne of yesterday's comments mentioned that inflation has made the box office dollar rankings decreasingly meaningful. That's an accurate observation, especially when one examines the very recent past, because 3D films have changed the price structure so dramatically in such a short time. When all the grosses are viewed in constant 2010 dollars, Titanic and Avatar are only 6th and 14th on the list. If that could somehow be converted accurately to actual ticket units, Avatar would place still lower because of its pricing structure. Based on the best available info, Box Office Mojo estimates that Gone With The Wind is still the big dog.
