Yawn. It was a "who cares" week. Of the big four undefeated powers, three had the week off, and Boise State played Friday (a 51-0 laughter).
As I pointed out last week, TCU is 99.9% certain to finish undefeated, so the teams with a loss have a chance at a title shot only if all three of the other undefeated teams fall. That's a slim chance, but it could happen. As luck would have it, Auburn, Boise State and Oregon all have tough games next week against Top 20 opponents, with the toughest challenge being Auburn's game against 'Bama.
Three other teams are still hanging on to improbable national championship hopes:
Wisconsin's defense didn't impress, but their offense ran rough-shod over Michigan. Their QB was 14-for-15 and they had two different running backs with 170+ yards - although their best running back missed the game!
Stanford destroyed Cal. They were ahead 45-0 after three quarters. The computers should like that, because Oregon barely managed to squeak past Cal 15-13 last week, but Stanford's edge in that comparison is mitigated by Oregon's easy 52-31 victory over Stanford in their head-to-head match in early October.
Although LSU is rated above Wisconsin and Stanford in the BCS standings, it seems to be in the worst position of these three teams. There are two reasons: (1) they barely survived against Ol' Miss today, and were losing with five minutes to play; (2) they have a tough game against Arkansas next week, while Wisconsin and Stanford play unranked opponents.
