The Yankees still got nothin'

The Yankees still got nothin'
Well, nobody thought that their offensive woes would be cured by facing Verlander, but just about their entire offense was a homer in the ninth by the obscure back-up shortstop who's filling in for Jeter. You know that Jeter and Cano are iron men, so you can guess that the utility infielder rarely plays. He had only 89 at-bats this year, so ya gotta figure a post-season homer off Verlander must be his career highlight.

Ichiro had two hits, but those were the team's only two hits until the ninth inning when Nunez hit his homer, followed by singles from Teixeira and Cano, who finally ended his embarrassing hitless streak at 29 at-bats.

The Bronx Bummers are down 3-0, and are down to less than a 10% chance of winning the series.
