Report: Annual NYC inmate cost exceeds four years at Harvard

Report: Annual NYC inmate cost exceeds four years at Harvard

The solution is simple. Instead of sentencing a drug dealer to ten years in jail, at a cost of $1,677,000, sentence them to four years at Harvard ($210,000 including room and board) with three full-time bodyguards working 8-hour shifts ($467,000 for 12 man-years). That leaves a cool million in the city's purse, and gives society a hopeful fresh-faced Harvard graduate with a degree in art history and a minor in philosophy.

Ironically, the only job that degree qualifies him for ... is drug dealing.

Ah, the circle of life. Ingonyama nengw' enamabala.
