The author knows her stuff. I looked to see if Mother and Son, an obscure but incredibly pretentious Russian film, was on the list. That would be my #1 if I made such a list, and I expected her to miss it, but she did not!

You could also argue for others like My Dinner With Andre, Nostalghia, and Hiroshima Mon Amour, but the ones she chose are just as worthy. My hat is tipped to her.
