The Muppets disappointed with a mere $16.5M.
God's Not Dead pulled off a miraculous $8.6 million from just 780 theaters. That works out to about $11,000 per theater - twice as much as the Muppets! That was good enough for fifth place overall.
The Grand Budapest Hotel even managed to double that impressive average, averaging $22,000 per theater to pull in $7M from a mere 300 theaters, good enough for 7th place overall.
