Travel Disaster: New York City Could See Six Inches of Snow Tomorrow

Travel Disaster: New York City Could See Six Inches of Snow Tomorrow
The day before Thanksgiving is the busiest travel day of the year. JFK, Newark and Laguardia are all among the twenty busiest airports in the USA.

Do you know which is the country's busiest airport? I did not. If given three guesses, I would have said DFW, O'Hare and LAX. Those three are 4,3, and 2 respectively, but the correct answer is Atlanta. It is not only the busiest now, but has been for many years and achieves that distinction by a very large margin. In the past year, 94 million passengers traveled through the Atlanta airport, compared to about 60 million for each of the other three I mentioned.

However, the three New York area airports handle 104 million annual passengers between them, and JFK handles the most international passengers of any U.S. airport, with Newark a strong 4th.

One more trivia question from the same Wikipedia link. Can you guess which airport handles the most cargo?

It's Memphis, home to FedEx.
