"Twitter has become a stalking ground for the sanctimoniously self-righteous"
Stephen Fry exits Twitter once again
I don't care about that, but I definitely agree with his comments: "Let us grieve at what twitter has become. A stalking ground for the sanctimoniously self-righteous who love to second-guess, to leap to conclusions and be offended"
On the other hand, why did he ever believe it would be any different? 240 characters is not a format designed for nuanced thought. By its very nature, it's a verbal drive-by shooting.
A stalking ground for the sanctimoniously self-righteous who love to second-guess, to leap to conclusions and be offended"
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a definition of Facebook, also?
I dunno. I find Facebook to be a nice place to stay in touch with friends and post about special interests like baseball and my hometown. None of my close friends and family post any negative or political stuff. Some of my more distant acquaintances occasionally post crap from nutburger groups on both the left and right wings, but I just ignore them.
