At this point in the season, Sagarin's computer rankings are not very scientific, since they are based on one game and an imaginary starting point, but for the record they differ in several respects from the human polls.

For example: the computer ranks 0-1 Oklahoma #4, while the humans rank the Sooners 13th and 14th. The humans (logically) rank the team that beat Oklahoma (Houston) higher (6th or 7th), but the computer is still significantly affected by the arbitrary starting point, which holds Houston down to 17th. You will find similar anomalies between all the winners and losers of last week's major upsets, with the humans ranking the winners above the losers and the computer still treating those upsets as flukes. Nothing to worry about. The computer needs more data to become more accurate.
