Syren Sexton in Strippers vs Werewolves
Many movies have the power to draw us into their stories and characters. They often entertain us, make us laugh, make us sing along, or make us cry.
Only rarely does a film come along that is more than that. It profoundly affects the world. It can truly be called important.
Strippers vs Werewolves is not such a film.
At least I'm betting it isn't, because nothing could persuade me to watch a film called Strippers vs Werewolves, possibly excepting a non-simulated sex scene with Jessica Alba.
... and even then only if I was the one having sex with her.
I am always interested in the great rivalries, however: Ohio State vs Michigan, the Dodgers vs the Giants, the Yankees vs the Red Sox, the Patriots vs the rule book ...
and strippers vs werewolves.
So in this respect I am tempted to watch the final moments of the film to see whether the strippers can pull off the upset.
I saw this at a con because I had to review it... And it's fun as hell! Seriously, it's a shockingly entertaining movie. Kind of a riff on British gangster movies, since the werewolves in question are mobsters out for revenge when one of the strippers in the champagne room accidentally kills one of theirs when he gets frisky. The movie knows full well how goofy the premise is and just has fun. It's a great double feature with Cockneys vs Zombies, a similar film that's absolutely hilarious.
