Also, from an academic perspective, 'plagiarism' is the theft of ideas and not of sentences. Of course, since this is a fairly simplistic (and simple minded) idea, plagiarizing the idea from the character Bane isn't possible.
Correct. You can't "plagiarize" a commonplace or obvious idea. (Although plagiarism is also the theft of sentences and fragments, especially in literary fiction, where the originality of the eloquence is about equally as important as the ideas.)
