Trump warned that the U.S. must avoid Europe's immigration problems, claiming that "crime in Germany is way up."
Once again I probably shouldn't have to point this out because when Trump says something you can pretty much assume the opposite is true, but Germany just recorded its lowest crime rate in the past 25 years.
I still can't figure our President out. Is he so stupid that he can't figure out common facts despite having all the research capabilities of the United States at his beck and call, or is he just a liar? I hear from the guys at Fordham that he was at least a C+ student, so he can't be completely dense, so I guess it's that whole wacky pathological liar thing.
So we stick our heads in the sand and pretend that the majority of Europe isn't fed up with the refugee crisis? Is it up to us to tell them that they are wrong to feel that way?
ReplyDeleteWhile we're at it, we'll ignore the fact that the far-right wing parties have made enormous gains in France, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Italy.
The position that he is trying to take may be the correct one. I understand perfectly why so many people in the UK wanted out of Europe and its open borders.
DeleteI didn't comment on that one way or another. In fact, I have no problem with the USA fortifying its Southern border, even with a wall when appropriate. It can't do any harm, and it might do some good.
What I do have a problem with is Trump's steady stream of lies. What I pointed out is that, as usual, you can assume that whenever Trump states a fact, the exact opposite is true.
Trump: German crime is way up. Truth: German crime is at its lowest point in the past quarter century.
That's pretty much the opposite.
