Star Trek's "Scotty" has retired from public life in response to the onset of Alzheimer's. James Doohan, a veteran of the D-Day landing in Europe, is 84. He was vigorous enough to father a new baby just four years ago, but apparently his engines kunna stan' the str-r-rain.
