Authority figure overreaction of the month: Felony Charges For Harmless High School Hacking. "At no time was the security of the server breached, and I don't know that it has cost the taxpayers any money" ... "The server, where grades and other private records are stored, was never threatened." Yeah, that merits felony charges, and a really expensive trial that will spend millions of the taxpayer's money to get "not guilty" verdicts from sympathetic jurors!

  1. It's not the students that should be prosecuted, it's the stupid sys admin. As one myself, if I allowed my users to find out the admin password, it would be my tail being fired, not theres.
