- Montana goes to the Democrat. Current count: Dems 48+2, GOP 49, Undecided 1. The undecided race in Virginia determines control of the entire senate (GOP needs 50 for control, Dems need 51). As of now, it appears that Macaca has lost, but I read that Virginia has some astromical number of absentee ballots, like 130,000, so those will have to be layered in. And then there's the recount. Assuming that Macaca loses his seat, the Dems will control the Senate IF Lieberman stays in line. He probably will, but not before imposing some conditions and extracting some favors. If he weren't such a Holy Joe, he'd be getting his knob polished several times a day right now.
