ESPN.com - MLB - Box Score - Yankees at Devil Rays

A-Rod belts two more homers, but Yank pitchers allow 10.
Although Matsui has been on the DL and Damon has missed many games, the Yankees are leading the American League in runs scored by a wide margin. That's the good news. The bad news is that they are 8-10, and Pettitte has been their only solid pitcher. Mussina's ERA is 9.00, Igawa's is 7.84, and Mariano Rivera is at 7.11 with NO saves.

Only once before in all of team history did the Yankees score five or more runs in four straight games and lose them all: June 11-15, 1933 ... more than seventy years ago!

The more uplifting story is A-Rod. He has already tied the record for most homers in April and still has a week to play. He has hit in every game. (Since 1980, only two players have begun the season with longer streaks.) Yesterday's 4-for-5 elevated his batting average to .400. He's still on pace for 120+ homers, 300+ RBI.
