Other Crap

A hello from Silver Dollar Sam. Sam was our colleague for a while, author of the now-defunct "Nothing Wild" site. He is a professional gambler, and now an actor and an author as well. (He has a small part in Curtis Hanson's oft-delayed "Lucky You.")

His letter:

"You are right about the deleted scene from Cat People. We'll probably never see it. Here's another that's hard to find. In Short Cuts, all the women have a nude scene except Ann Archer. Well, Lily Tomlin and Jennifer Jason Leigh aren't exactly nude but they have sex scenes. But all the others, including Frances McDormand, show some unusual skin. I have always been among the first in line for a Bob Altman film and so, naturally, I saw the limited release. Just as the ending credits were rolling and the viewer was thinking about all the sex stuff except for Ann Archer, she jumps up on a table and does a nude dance. That is, she raises her dress up to her collar with no unders. She does an exuberant dance and wears a big mischievous, playful smile while continuing to hold her dress up. The camera films from a low angle and she dances the entire time the credits roll. When the general release was made, I of course went to see the film again and it was as we see it today. No nude dancing from Ann Archer.

Now, there's a project for someone.
