Good glossary of Mexican-American slangAccording to this Reuters article, this column is one of the most popular in any American newspaper.
I'm not an expert on Mexican slang, but I can say that the article is wrong to assert that the Spanish letter n with a tilde over it is the "only such occurrence of such a sound in the world." The same sound is written "gn" in Italian and French ("campagna," "Champagne"), and "nh" in Portuguese ("Caipirinha"). It also occurs occasionally in English (the first "n" in "onion"). The only thing unique about Spanish is the orthography for the sound.
