Happy birthday to The Kid and The Man
Two of the best outfielders in baseball history were born on November 21st: Stan Musial and Ken Griffey, Jr.

Nothing so very odd about that, you think? Consider that Stasiu and Junior were both born in the same tiny Rust Belt town (pop. 5000) in Western Pennsylvania, 49 years apart. Baseball guru Bill James once called Griffey "the second-best left-handed hitting, left-handed throwing outfielder ever born in Donora, Pennsylvania on November 21."

I'm not sure what mystical properties that might indicate, but if Achilles' mother Thetis were alive today and wanted her infant son to grow up to be a great hitter, she would be wise to dip the little nipper in the Monongahela instead of the Styx.
