Ananova - Army officer 'tried to smuggle tank'

"A Bulgarian army officer has been arrested after he allegedly tried to smuggle a tank out of the country."

Oh, those Bulgarian border guards. It's tough to sneak anything past them. Except that the capper on the story is that he previously snuck another tank out successfully! I'll bet that Janko, the weekend guard, was on duty that day.

My guess is that he bungled the bribe with the second tank. My experience in Eastern Europe is that you can do anything anywhere if you pay the right people the right amount of money. But bring Euros, Pounds or Dollars. They don't take American Express and they don't accept any of that crappy Bulgarian money.
