Jessica Simpson Jinxes Tony Romo
With his new girl in the audience, Romo had the worst game of his career: 13 for 36, 0 TDs, 3 INTs, 2 fumbles, a 22 passer rating, and a loss to the lowly Eagles, who came into the game 5-8.

A 22 rating? Man, that's not just the worst of his career. That would be the worst game of Grossman's career!

After I wrote that line, which I thought was funny, I checked the stats for the last two seasons, and it turned out not to be a joke at all. Grossman's worst game with twenty or more attempts was a 27 rating, a very similar game to Romo's, but slightly better: 15 for 32 with 0 TDs and 3 INTs.

Then I stopped to think, "Just how bad is a rating of 22?" The short answer is, "Unbelievably bad." The long answer is this: imagine that you - yes, you reading this post - get called in to play one NFL down at QB. You line up in the shotgun, take a snap and heave the ball out of bounds. You retire from the game permanently with a QB rating of 40 - about double what Romo had yesterday.
