"A clerk foiled an attempted robbery by a man throwing bananas at him"

"The suspect walked behind the counter and again ordered the 54-year-old clerk to give him money, police said. The clerk pulled out a kitchen knife he had used earlier to slice up some food. The suspect ran to the other side of the counter and picked up a handful of loose bananas and threw them at the clerk, police said. Two of the bananas hit the clerk in the head but he was not injured."
