Hellboy 2 easily beat Hancock for the top spot, and Journey to the Center took the #3 spot by beating Wall-E.

Eddie Murphy's movie, Meet Dave, was a total bomb, grossing only $1.7 million despite being in more than 3000 theaters ($565 per theater). That compares to the most notorious disasters in box office history. It did worse than Gigli, which opened with $1.5 million in 2200 theaters ($654 per theater), but it still outperformed Lucky You, which opened with a million bucks in 2500 theaters ($404 per theater)

It has no chance to break Lucky You's record for the worst opening weekend among films with 2500-theater openings ($2.7 million, $1073 per theater), and no film has ever come close to Lucky You's record for the lowest total gross for a film opening in 2500 or more theaters ($5.7m), but Meet Dave might have an outside shot at Hoot's record for the worst weekend among films in 3000 or more theaters. ($3.3 million). I don't think it will get there. The most likely scenario is that it will finish third worst of all time in that category, behind Hoot and The Seeker.
