Hannah Montana cooled off after a blazing Friday start, but still took the weekend with a solid $34 million opening.The box office continues to ignore the recession. If you will remember, last week was the best April weekend in history, by a very wide margin. If that had not been, this weekend would have been! It finished a solid second, far ahead of the weekend in third place.
In the best weekend of April last year, the top 12 films grossed only $82 million. In the two weekends this year, the totals have been $149 million and $130 million!
