They can thank their lucky stars that neither of the songs was "Seasons in the Sun," the performance of which is still a beheading offense in England.

Reminds me of an incident from when I lived in Norway. The Norwegians are really liberal about allowing begging, busking, and other sorts of things which can get your ass kicked in any sensible country, so there was some freakin' guy who played the trumpet outside my window every night for a while, and he had absolutely no concept of how to play. I hoped that my neighbors or the police would do something, but no luck. I finally went down and told him that I would give him a hundred kroner (about fourteen bucks) if he would just move somewhere out of my hearing range. He jumped on that deal fast, and was true to his word. I was thrilled to get rid of him so easily, but when I thought about how fast he accepted the deal, without being insulted in the least, I realized that getting paid not to play must have been his scam!

If you can get paid not to perform, just imagine how much money Celine Dion could make in Norway!
