John Smoltz melts the years away in his Cardinals debut

Maybe John Smoltz isn't through, after all.

The Cardinals may have plucked the gold ring. At one point Smoltz fanned seven guys in a row and looked like the pitcher he was a decade ago. He went five innings, allowed no runs on three hits, fanned nine altogether.
