Weekend Box Office Results for September 18-20, 2009 - Box Office Mojo

In terms of the aggregate total for the top films, the weekend turned out about as expected, but that was because one film (Chance of Meatballs) came in many million above the estimates while another (Jennifer's Body) came in a comparable amount below its own predicted totals.

It was a very solid week for this time of year, finishing 14% ahead of the comparable week last year, and a similar 15% higher than last week. Give all the credit and a tip o' the cap to Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, which matched its solid box office with solid reviews.
