She was Ophelia to Olivier's Hamlet, Varinia to Kirk's Spartacus. She starred in Guys and Dolls, Young Bess, The Grass is Greener, Home Before Dark, This Could Be The Night, The Happy Ending and Elmer Gantry. She was nominated for one Oscar as best lead actress and one as best supporting actress - 21 years apart. She was also nominated for two BAFTAs for two totally different movies from the Oscar nominations. (That happened in the middle of the 21-year span between Oscar noms.) She was also nominated for six Golden Globes, and won one for Guys and Dolls.
