Martin Gardner - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

RIP Martin Gardner, who popularized recreational math in Scientific American. He was 95.
He wrote more than 70 books, mostly about mathematical/logical games and puzzles, but he also dabbled in the art of debunking and frequently cast a skeptical gaze on various forms of wacky spiritualism, mysticism and pseudoscience. Skeptical Inquirer named him one of the top ten skeptics of the 20th century. He was still an active writer in his final years, even at his advanced age. In the most recent issue of Skeptical Inquirer, he wrote an article on Oprah: "The Bright but gullible billionaire."
