Tuscan friars ask God to give a thief diarrhea

"A group of Franciscan friars, furious at the theft of bibles from their church, pray for the thief to be struck down by diarrhea."

Well, I'm no theologian, but if I were those Friars and truly believed in the power of prayer, I would rather see the thief be struck with remorse and return the bibles.

I would then be happy to forgive him, and send him on his way with some delicious food from Taco Bell, thus achieving the diarrhea without God's intercession.
