That ain't a good omen for the Democrats. The registrations in that district are 75% Democratic, and 40% of the voters in that district are Jewish, but the Jewish Democratic candidate got beat by a 70-year-old Catholic Republican who had never run for any office. And the Republican won by a very large margin, 56-44.
That district had never sent a Republican to congress in history. Weiner won seven terms there and won his last election with 61% of the vote.
