Two #1s fell over the weekend, but that was no surprise to the oddsmakers. They were both underdogs to their #2-seeded opponents. Those two #2s (OSU and Kansas) will now play each other, while Louisville, a #4 seed, will face the daunting task of defeating the remaining #1, powerful Kentucky, which fields an awesome kiddie core of starters (three freshmen and two sophomores).
Kentucky and Louisville have played before. Kentucky won 69-62 on New Year's Eve. The oddsmakers have made them a 9-point favorite to win the re-match as well.
OSU and Kansas also played in December, resulting in a fairly easy 78-67 Kansas victory. That result is probably not indicative of what might happen in a re-match because OSU played that game without star forward Jared Sullinger, who is the team's leading scorer and rebounder. The bookies have installed OSU as a 2.5 point favorite to avenge that defeat.
