The Moose was the first baseman for the Yankees from 1954-62. They won the American League pennant in 7 of those 9 years, and converted four of those into World Series rings. He was an All-Star in five of those seasons, and sported a .304 lifetime average through 1960, although his declining years subsequently pulled that down. In the great 1961 season when Maris and Mantle hit 61 and 54 homers respectively, the Moose chipped in with 28 of his own, en route to 211 lifetime.
He added another ring during his post-Yankees years.
