Edwards was found not guilty of accepting illegal campaign contributions from that old geezer. There were five other charges, but the jury could not reach a decision on them, resulting in a mistrial on those counts.
I don't blame the jurors for some kind of OJ-style blunder. It is not clear to me that Edwards broke any laws. I pretty much agree with his own statement:
"While I do not believe I did anything illegal, or ever thought I was doing anything illegal, I did an awful, awful lot that was wrong and there is no one else responsible for my sins."OK, we all agree, even Edwards, that he's morally reprehensible and a major douchebag, but there must not be any laws against douchebaggery because Donald Trump roams the streets freely.
