John Edwards Gets Off

John Edwards Gets Off
Edwards was found not guilty of accepting illegal campaign contributions from that old geezer. There were five other charges, but the jury could not reach a decision on them, resulting in a mistrial on those counts.

I don't blame the jurors for some kind of OJ-style blunder. It is not clear to me that Edwards broke any laws. I pretty much agree with his own statement:
"While I do not believe I did anything illegal, or ever thought I was doing anything illegal, I did an awful, awful lot that was wrong and there is no one else responsible for my sins."
OK, we all agree, even Edwards, that he's morally reprehensible and a major douchebag, but there must not be any laws against douchebaggery because Donald Trump roams the streets freely.
