It's about time we had a president with a colorful nickname. It's been years.
We won't count Slick Willie or Dubya or Tricky Dick, since those were not the kind of nicknames that appear in the history books, and were mostly just used by their enemies as terms of disparagement. Reagan was the last POTUS to have affectionate nicknames used by his friends and supporters.
"Official" nicknames or nicknames used by both supporters and enemies in the 20th century:

Silent Cal
The Gipper (or Dutch)
In the early to mid- 19th century, quite a few of them had colorful nicknames:
Honest AbeBy the way, "Mitt" doesn't count as a colorful nickname. That's actually his real middle name.
