NFL Football Scores - Week 6

NFL Football Scores - Week 6
Everyone will be talking about the Packers having shellacked the formerly undefeated Texans, thanks to 6 TD passes from Aaron Rodgers, or maybe how the Giants' defense skunked the 49ers

To me, a stats nerd, the most interesting story is how the hell the Dolphins won their game. The Rams had 462 yards of offense to 192 for the Dolphins.

By the usual calculations, even accounting for the Rams' turnover, they should have won by two touchdowns. Here's how they wasted all that yardage: (1) by settling for field goal attempts; and (2) missing three of them. The last FG attempt was 66 yards, so we can forgive that one, but the two in the first half were another matter entirely, especially a half-ending chip shot when the Rams were on the Dolphins' 19. This from a kicker who was arguably the greatest FG kicker in college football history. At one point in his senior year he made 21 in a row, nine of which were more than 50 yards, two of which were 58 yarders. He nailed a 58 and a 60 just last month against the Seahawks.
