Identity Thief took in $11 million on Friday, which is downright amazing in light of the facts that: (1) many theaters in the lucrative Northeast market were closed; and (2) the film was excoriated by critics.
Side Effects took in only a quarter of that and failed to wrest second place from Warm Bodies. It seems to be headed for rapid obscurity, despite its good reviews.
