There are two wide releases this week:
The Call, an R-rated thriller with Halle Berry, will be in 2500 theaters. "When veteran 911 operator, Jordan (Halle Berry), takes a life-altering call from a teenage girl (Abigail Breslin) who has just been abducted, she realizes that she must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl's life." Only 41% positive reviews.
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (3160 theaters) is a PG-13 comedy about two Vegas magicians going through a series of professional and personal crises. The cast is great (Steve Carrell, Jim Carrey, Steve Buscemi, Alan Arkin), but the reviews have not been so great: just 38% of them have been positive.
The two new films should finish 2nd and 3rd behind Oz. Wonderstone should do a little better because it's in more theaters, but neither is expected to take in more than low double figures.
