Top 50 underappreciated comedy films of the past 30 years

Top 50 underappreciated comedy films of the past 30 years

A useful link. I've seen almost all of these films, and I agree with the selections almost right down the line. Some examples: Matinee is just a marvelous movie. Fear of a Black Hat is hilarious. Eurotrip is right on for those of us who have lived and worked in Europe. The Road to Wellville is not really that funny, but is a very interesting, forgotten movie (a historical comedy is the only way I can describe it) with a great cast headed by Anthony Hopkins, John Cusack and Matthew Broderick.

My only quibble with the list is that Office Space, while brilliant, is not really underappreciated. Everyone I know has seen it and can quote from it. Bill Lumbergh, as played by Gary Cole, is an iconic comic character who has appeared in other media (TV ads and Family Guy,for example) and even has his own Wikipedia page.

The best part of the list from my point of view is that I found a film which I haven't seen and must get my hands on: "In the Bleak Midwinter."
