Woman sets fire to ex-boyfriend's home while seeking 'closure'

Woman sets fire to ex-boyfriend's home while seeking 'closure'
I can't remember exactly when in the past decades the bullshit community (mostly lawyers, psychologists, and journalists) decided to replace the traditional and completely accurate English term "revenge" with the politically correct "closure," but it drives me crazy. Placing the word in quotes in this headline makes it seem that this poor, ignorant woman was misunderstanding and abusing the term, but you can bet that her lawyer can produce a room full of psychologists who will use the same term in the same context.

Repayment of some wrong or injury by the infliction of emotional hurt or physical harm is the definition of revenge. When the family of a murder victim wants to see his slayer put to death, that may or may not be a correct thing, and we may empathize with them, but let's call it what it is: revenge. Maybe it's justified in that case, but let's not gloss it over. "Revenge" is still the correct word.
