Add to this list two films that please both sides: Patton and Starship Troopers, which are loved by military types as well as hard-core anti-war crusaders. If they looked closer, each group would find that parts of the films (or even the whole underlying theme) would undermine their positions, yet they ignore those elements and revel in the parts they approve of. I guess that means a good yarn transcends politics.
