The GOP power players are trying to keep the ultra-right faction under control. "It’s been a transparent effort to reassure industry donors that the party's future isn't a bottomless pit of brainless Bachmanns and Cruzes and Santorums, all convinced our Harvard-educated president is a sleeper-cell Arab."
Stop a moment ... just a quick fact-check on that claim:
Ted Cruz's education is actually better than our "Harvard-educated President." Obama and Cruz have exactly identical credentials at the grad school level, and Cruz was much stronger as an undergrad. He was valedictorian of his high school; he graduated cum laude from Princeton, where he was a national championship debater; a near-perfect LSAT score got him into Harvard Law, where he received his JD magna cum laude (as did the President). Professor Alan Dershowitz said of Cruz's time at Harvard, "Cruz was off-the-charts brilliant."
If you consider Ted Cruz your enemy, don't underestimate him. Whatever flaws he may have, being "brainless" is not one of them.

ReplyDeleteThe GOP is scared to death of having too many unelectable candidates on its ballots. As examples, let's name Cruz and Bachmann, two elected members of Congress.
